Less than four kilometers from its sister island of St. Kitts, Nevis is a world away. It may be small and not straight forward to get to, but those who do are rewarded with an island of low-key yet sophisticated charm.

It is a lush island, dominated by the usually cloud-topped Nevis Peak and surrounding rain forest. There are a few excellent beaches and accommodations ranging from comfortable beachside hotels to five-star resorts, as well as a handful of small, utterly charming boutique resorts, mainly located in the hills. The pace is slow, and while there are a number of things to do for those so inclined, Nevis is better suited to those seeking laid-back, comfortable relaxation.
